The Namib Naukluft National Park is a vast protected area covering much of the Namib Desert area of Namibia. This Desert is thought to be the oldest on the planet and because of this some of the most extraordinary creatures and landscapes have developed here. A key destination within this park is the Deadvlei which you get to via the Sesriem Gate, and then travel along the Sossusvlei until you reach the end of the road and then a 30 min walk through the dunes to reach the Deadvlei. By the time you get here you would have driven past some beautiful landscapes which are stunning in the early morning light and well worth taking the time to get some nice images. Dune 45 is one of the famous star shaped dunes that people like to climb early morning and take in the incredible light over the dunes it really is stunning. At Deadvlei itself there is a very large dune called Big Daddy, another great dune to climb and then run down into Deadvlei, make sure you have lots of water as it will be hot by the time you get there.
In the area you also have the option of doing a hot air balloon safari, a fixed wing plane flight over the dunes and the skeleton coast or a walk through the Sesriem Canyon as well.
2 Nights I think is minimum to spend in this area on a Namibia Safari
